Romarbrevet 13: 12 säger, ”Den som motsätter sig överheten gör motstånd mot Guds ordning”. Därför strider det mot den kristna ordningen att göra uppror mot staten eller att motverka statens beslut. Det skulle visa sig att dessa ord av S:t Paulus delade teologerna och församlingsansvariga i Tyskland efter Hitlers maktövertagande 1933.

He asked the Archbishop, “Why was it so important for you to come here to Altötting for the Benedict Forum?”
“Your question surprises me!” Mons. Gänswein replied.
It was no surprise that Archbishop Georg Gänswein was happy to come to Germany to participate in the second "Benedict XVI Forum.”
