Mandag 3. februar var festen for den hellige Ansgar, Nordens apostel. Pilgrimene stod opp tidlig for å dra til Petersplassen, hvor den hellige far tok imot den nordiske valfarten i en egen audiens.

Stemningen var høy da paven entret Paul VI-hallen. Valfarten ble avsluttet med en storslått messe i Peterskirken.
