Encyclical Dilexit Nos: The Heart of Compassion
Pope Francis has published a new encyclical, "Dilexit Nos" ("He Loved Us"), which focuses on the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the transforming power of God's love. The document was presented at the conclusion of the Synod on Synodality.
The core message of the encyclical is that God's love, revealed through Jesus Christ, transcends personal, intimate experience. It serves as a fundamental force that compels humanity to love others, to transform society and to build peace through dialogue and respect.
The encyclical presents two main factual observations:
It coincides with the 350th anniversary of the first apparition of the Sacred Heart to St Margaret Mary Alacoque.
