Kära kristna, Idag kan vi i vår tro uppleva en stor glädje som när en familj får veta att en hustru väntar barn. Guds folk tar emot det lyckliga beskedet om en kommande födelse. Maria blir havande och skall föda en son, den utlovade Messias. Det är den händelse som blivit en folklig tradition i många kristna länder, Angelusbönen, inramad av klockringning, morgon, middag, kväll, före och efter de heliga orden i Gabriels bebådelse till Jungfru Maria.
