Hope Does Not Disappoint: The Jubilee of 2025
In a world filled with challenges, anxiety, and conflict, the Holy Year 2025 shines as a beacon of hope and renewal. Pope Francis, through the Bull of Indiction Spes Non Confundit—“Hope Does Not Disappoint”—invites all humanity to embrace this Jubilee of Hope.
Key Highlights:
The Holy Doors of Jubilee
The opening of the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica on Christmas Eve marked the start of the Jubilee Year. Additional Holy Doors have since been opened at Rome’s other major basilicas—St. John Lateran, St. Mary Major, and St. Paul Outside the Walls—each symbolizing spiritual renewal.
A Holy Door in Prison
For the first time, Pope Francis opened a special fifth Holy Door in Rebibbia Prison on December 26. This powerful act of mercy brought hope to inmates worldwide, with prisoners presenting the Pope with a gift crafted from the wood of migrant boats.
The Jubilee’s Universal Call
Experts and Church leaders reflect on the Jubilee’s message: God meets us where we are but calls us to transformation. The Jubilee offers an opportunity for all, from pilgrims in Rome to those following online, to embark on a path of conversion and spiritual renewal.
Technology Meets Tradition
Rome expects over 35 million pilgrims during the Jubilee Year. Visitors can register online via the official Jubilee app and access information points for a seamless pilgrimage experience.
